There’s no area in alternative medicine where more promises have been made than in anti-aging.
Of course, with the baby boomer realizing that immortality is no longer a reality, people are buying into these promises and that spans from face creams to growth supplements.
Unfortunately, there is no elixir and the harsh truth is that none of these solutions work.
This is for the simple fact that aging occurs for not just one reason but a number of factors some of which include cell senescence, a decrease in telomerase activity, protein degradation, excess sugar activity, reduced circulation and cellular energy production, a number of changes in hormone production and levels, excessive body weight as well as good old wear and tear.
And this isn’t an exhaustive list, by any means since poor nutrition as well as the accumulation of free radicals or even stress can cause nutrition too.
While you can’t identify every possible cause of aging, one cannot solve this problem by dealing with only one of these factors. In other words, one will have to take a systemic approach to solve it.
And even though some people think that anti-aging is against the laws of nature, the truth is that the only species with a brain that can ensure their own survival are us humans.
And in that, taking the help of anti-aging techniques so as to extend your life is not only a good idea but is one that is in alignment with nature.
