Bring up the topic of tanning in a group of people and no doubt you will hear all different types of opinions and beliefs. Some may suggest that all types of tanning are dangerous and others might believe that spray tanning can result in an “Oompa Loompa effect.” We decided it was imperative to debunk some of these spray tanning myths.
1) Spray tans are ridiculously expensive.
There is such an assortment of options in spray tanning these days which makes this is a complete myth. One can go to a salon, hire a private technician or invest in your own equipment for home. There are so many different kinds of spray tanning equipment and solutions which means there is a price point that meets everyone’s budget. There is a range in prices when it comes to buying equipment. For example, HVLP spray tanning equipment is typically more expensive than airbrush tanning kits.
2) Spray tans never looks natural.
This is just completely and utterly false. Spray tanning, when done right, looks incredibly natural. Most people are not able to tell if a spray tan is fake or natural. Picking a skilled technician can guarantee an even tan without those pesky splotches or streaks.
3) Spray tans leave you looking as orange as a carrot.
While fair skinned people may have to be a bit more cautious and ease into spray tanning, most people don’t have to worry about turning orange. There have been many advances in the solutions used in most tanning salons today. This along with the use of the best spray tan equipment can result in a gorgeous golden brown color instead of skin that is reminiscent of certain kinds of fruits and vegetables.
